How do I take care of my Carbon bike and wheels?

Please see the support section.

Why should I buy a cabal?

Because we work with a direct to public model there are no middlemen or distributor costs. That means we get to pass on as much savings to you the customer and you get a bike at exceptional value that comes with local warranty and support.

Where are Cabal Bikes Designed?

The look, feel and visual design of Cabal Bikes is created in Cape Town. Our frames are made from open design moulds. Open design moulds are not exclusive to any one factory or producer , although the materials, technology and manufacture process used have a substantial effect on the quality of the finished product.

Where are CABAL FRAMES Manufactured?

Our bike frames are manufactured at our factory in China. The Cabal team has personally researched, sourced, visited the factory and met the people who make our product.

What sets the quality of CABAL open design frames apart?

Our production process applies the highest standards of carbon production. Our carbon pieces are laser cut from the world’s highest quality commercially available carbon, Japanese Toray carbon fibre, which is moulded using EPS technology. This ensures our products have the most even carbon layup and the best material and resin distribution during the carbon product manufacturing process.

What design checks and tests have been done to ensure the safety of riders?

Every frame model we sell has been rigorously tested in a bicycle-specific test facility to meet European ISO certified safety requirements. We also rigorously test and push our bikes in real world conditions for up to a year before we offer them to the public. Read our returns, warranty and replacement documentation if you'd like to know the limits of your risk.

Are Chinese carbon frames cheap and nasty?

Many of the world’s biggest brands use factories in China, but not all factories in China produce frames of equal quality. We trust our factory, the manufacturing processes it uses and the quality product it produces, as do other significant and reputable big brands in the international market that use the same factory as us.

Why Shouldn’t I just buy open design mould bikes directly from China?

You can, as long as you understand the risks involved. If you want a blank frame, with no paint, are certain about the source you’re getting it from and want to handle the shipping, importing and warranty risks yourself, there is nothing wrong with buying a bike directly from China. We would caution that you should know the history of your source before doing so, understanding your risks and lack of recourse.

What sort of quality Control do your frames go through?

Our factory applies multiple quality checks to every frame, it’s decals and paint application. Quality control is then re-applied to frames when they arrive in South Africa. You can also have peace of mind knowing that our frames are warrantied directly out of Cabal Bikes (Pty) Ltd., which means if a warranty issue arises then it’s dealt with immediately to get you back riding in no time.

Why is the direct to public model more cost effective?

The direct-to-public model means you get frames and groupsets from the original manufacturer, to your doorstep. We deal with the frame manufacturer directly and our groupsets come straight from the SRAM factory through our OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) agreements or directly from the regional distributors if Shimano or Campagnolo. Any bulk discounts we receive are passed on to the customer as savings.
